Friday, October 9, 2009, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM - Jackson Hole Center for the Arts Theater
Our heart is a complex organ which possesses its own intelligence, memory and vulnerability to emotional as well as physical stressors. World-renowned cardiologist, Dr. Mimi Guarneri will explore all aspects of the whole heart: the mental heart, affected by hostility, stress and depression; the emotional heart, able to be crushed by loss; the intelligent heart, with a nervous system all its own; the spiritual heart, which yearns for a higher purpose; and the universal heart, which communicates with others.
Participants will gain a greater understanding of risk factors associated with cardiovascular disease; the role of emotions in health and illness; the use of nutritional supplements and nutraceutricals in cardiovascular disease; specific risk factors that pertain to women; and the role of integrative medicine in mainstream healthcare.
In addition to sharing stories of her own personal journeys, Dr. Guarneri will talk about how her patients helped her unravel the mysteries of the heart, and lead a group exercise to help the audience develop their own road maps for healing.
